DIY Lavender Treats For Your Hair🪻

Hey Y'all!

My girl Kay sent out a dope email about all the wonders Lavender does on your hair. If you missed it, check your emails because it was filled with gems!

I won't repeat too much of what you already know because that email told it all! I'll just give you a few recipes to test out to maximize your use of Lavender in your hair this month.

1. Lavender Hair Rinse

Ingredients:

- 1 cup of dried lavender flowers

- 2 cups of water

- 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar (optional)

Instructions:

1. Boil the water in a pot.

2. Once boiling, remove from heat and add the dried lavender flowers. Let it steep for 30 minutes.

3. Strain the mixture into a bowl and let it cool.

4. If desired, add apple cider vinegar for additional shine and scalp health.

5. After shampooing, pour the lavender rinse over your hair, massaging it into your scalp. Do not rinse out.

2. Lavender Hair Oil

Ingredients:

- 2 tablespoons of carrier oil (e.g., jojoba oil, coconut oil, or olive oil)

- 5-10 drops of lavender essential oil

- Optional: 1-2 tablespoons of dried lavender flowers

Instructions:

1. Combine the carrier oil and lavender essential oil in a small bottle or jar.

2. If using dried lavender, add it to the mixture.

3. Shake well to blend the oils and allow to sit for at least 24 hours for the flavors to infuse.

4. Apply a small amount to your scalp and hair, focusing on the ends. Leave it in for an hour or overnight before washing out for added nourishment.

*Or Just grab the one Kay makes, it's on sale and saves you the trouble of buying the ingredients and having to wash it out 👀

3. Lavender Scalp Scrub

Ingredients:

- 1 cup of sugar or sea salt

- 1/2 cup of coconut oil (or another carrier oil)

- 10 drops of lavender essential oil

- 2 tablespoons of dried lavender flowers (optional)

Instructions:

1. In a bowl, mix the sugar or salt with the coconut oil until well combined.

2. Add the lavender essential oil and dried lavender flowers, mixing thoroughly.

3. In the shower, dampen your hair and apply the scrub to your scalp, massaging gently for a few minutes.

4. Rinse thoroughly and follow with your regular shampoo and conditioner.

4. Lavender Leave-In Conditioner

Ingredients:

- 1 cup of distilled water

- 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel

- 5-10 drops of lavender essential oil

Instructions:

1. In a spray bottle, combine the distilled water, aloe vera gel, and lavender essential oil.

2. Shake well to mix the ingredients.

3. After washing your hair, spray the leave-in conditioner onto damp hair, focusing on the ends. Do not rinse out.

5. Lavender Hair Mask

Ingredients:

- 1 ripe avocado

- 2 tablespoons of honey

- 5-10 drops of lavender essential oil

- Optional: 1 tablespoon of olive oil for extra moisture

Instructions:

1. In a bowl, mash the avocado until smooth.

2. Add honey and lavender essential oil (and olive oil, if using), mixing until well combined.

3. Apply the mask to clean, damp hair, focusing on the lengths and ends.

4. Leave it on for 30-45 minutes, then rinse thoroughly and shampoo as usual.

Try these out and let me know what you think in the comments below. We all know Kay keeps her hair done up, but she's supposed to try some of these and share on YouTube and the Socials so stay tuned in for that, I will too. 🤪

Of course spot test this stuff because only you know what you're allergic too. 👀

Until Next time fam!
